It seems to be the word. Diversity, inclusion, access, equity, and a sense of belonging, these are concepts that are now being taken seriously because there’s big money in, even in a performative way, DEI work.
Trouble is no one really seems to know what exactly “the work” is supposed to look like.
My biggest takeaway from tonight’s chat was access. More BIPOC business entrepreneurs need access to information because the resources are, in fact, out there.
Look into joining your local chamber of commerce to find out what you have access to.
